exe file to get you back up on your feet in two clicks following a disaster). I prefer NI's challenge/response, but I think their online system needs some tweaking (easier licence management, better interface, maybe a personalized, downloadable "quick restore". It's just an awful form of copy protection.

But they won't have this dumb dongle sucking small amounts of processing power out of their systems, a dongle that installs software that sometimes causes instability issues (not nearly as bad as the older PACE did, but there's definitely still problems), and don't have to worry about losing this little dongle, because if you lose your i-lok, or it's stolen, that's tough luck. So certain people will be using the software that you paid for without paying for it. It may take an extra 2 weeks to crack this program, but it will be cracked. The most infuriating thing of all is that the i-lok does absolutely nothing to curb piracy.

Just bought Waves GTR3, and have followed their instructions to the tee about how to install. hey, there's no i-lok in the box! I have to go spend another $40! Hi all, forgive me if there already is a thread, I have searched and I cannot see this issue such. And even if I just bought the plugin for $600 or whatever and got it home. J’ai pu essayer Guitar Rig3, la série des Plug-ing POD chez line6, je trouvais que c’était pas mal. I'm not paying $40 just to see if this plugin sucks or not, because it very well may suck hard. Je suis étonné en parcourant le forum et la rubrique logiciel de Zikinf de ne rien trouver concernant le plug GTR3 de Waves. In the case of this particular thread, it's the fact that the i-lok costs $40, and the demo requires it.

I don't know what sort of effect this would have until after my purchase- after I break the seal, and after I install it, which is, of course, long after I can get my money back. I use the Waves GTR 3.5 Guitar Amp Simulator and when used in standalone program mode it receives an input signal but when I open the VST in Mixcraft 8 Studio Pro I cannot get any input signal coming into the Plugin from my guitar. Their other alternative comes from the signature Chris Lord Alge line of DSP plugins, called CLA guitars. If I added GTR to my setup, I'd have an i-lok and synchrosoft's Cubase dongle taking up 2 of my usb ports, and they'd both have to be communicating with their respective programs, which leads to more system overhead. My Review: One of the oldest players in the VST game, Waves has been at the fore-front of DSP technology, and their guitar simulation plugin called GTR3 is well-known for its solid performance and frugal CPU usage. People often have to increase their buffers/latency after installing the i-lok to compensate for the USB dongle hijacking system resources in order to share info with the plugin, in order to make sure you're not a pirate (which is kind of insulting).Īnd that's just one dongle. Thanks for reading this and any help is most welcome.Click to expand. The fear is primarily due to i-lok's reputation for causing system problems. I have contacted Waves Support but I thought I may cast a wider net to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

And I re-installed the plugins and Waves Central on a brand new PC using Windows 11 and ended up with the same issues Waves makes an amazing program called GT. But guitar rig, Line6 Tone Works software wasnt really for me. I have an SM57 but tweaking a mic perfect sucks. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Waves Central, and the two plugins using a uninstaller to ensure all traces of the programs were uninstalled. So I got a new USB Interface from ART called Tube MP its sounds pretty damn awesome. PC Windows 11 (same thing happens on Windows 10) I decided to check out Reaper out of curiousity, you cant beat the price, and my current DAW is not compatible with Waves GTR3.5 ground. This happens when using the piano plugins in either stand alone mode or in my DAW I cant understand why the file explorer sees all my files and the two piano plugins don’t. Yet when I work through the same file path using windows file explorer there they are all unzipped and waiting for me. The Waves GTR sounds far more realistic to me where the clean and crunch sounds are concerned and GR could also learn a thing or two about presets if the GTR demo sounds are anything to go by. So while in the plugin i worked through the file path to where the samples are stored and I get a empty folder. When I try and load the samples into my plugin I get the notice “Samples Loading” but that is as far as it goes no samples are ever loaded. Plus downloaded and unzipped the piano sample files, and I have the following issues with the two piano plugins.
I installed all three into my Windows PC. I have purchased three plugins Waves GTR3, Waves Grand Rhapsody and Electric 200, the last two are piano plugins. I did check for similar posts prior to asking here. Hi this is my first post and I am just starting to play around with home recording so my knowledge base is starting from zero.
